HOW TO DOWNLOAD
The easiest way to download an MP3 is to right-click on the link that points to the file and select "Save Target As..." or "Save File As..." (depending on what browser you use). The recommended browser to use is Firefox. You can also use a download program/accelerator.

If you just left-click on an mp3, then the Windows Media Player installed might try to start playing the MP3 file directly in your browser, not letting you save the file as usual, or your browser will just display heaps of weird text (this is likely to happen when using Netscape). Use either of the tricks above to avoid this. The easiest thing to do is to make a special directory for all your MP3's. You can save all your MP3's in this directory and you won't lose track of them.

Then when you have the MP3 safely on your hard disk you might encounter another problem. Your file might not have the normal (mp3file.mp3) extension! Webmasters often upload MP3 files (mp3file.mp3) with strange extensions (mp3file.tar, mp3file.gz, mp3file.zip etc.) to stop them from being deleted by the servers administrators. You will still be able to download the file as usual, but when it's on your hard disk you will have to rename it before you'll be able to play it normally. If the file has a .zip or .gz extension then try unzipping it (with Winzip) first and if that doesn't work, then rename it.

To rename the file, you should first select it in Window's Explorer. Then press "F2" on your keyboard and change the extension to .mp3 (just type it in at the end of the filename). If this doesn't work, then it may be because Windows is set to hide the filename extensions. Bring up the View menu (in Windows Explorer), and click "Folder Options...". Select the "View" tab, and select "Hide file extensions for known file types". The exact procedure may vary between different versions of Windows, but have a look around and I'm sure you will find it.

And if all of the renaming procedures above fail... than open your MS-Dos window and go to your MP3 directory, by typing: cd mp3directory at C:\. And than type: rename x.tar x.mp3. Of course you will have to type the right filename in the place of the "x" and the write extension where "tar" now stands.
